Dear Dr. Savage,
I just wanted to take a moment to send you this quick note to say thank you so very much. I was at the Hyatt Regency on August 19th and encountered a problem with my eye. After speaking with the hotel front desk, they contacted you and you in turn contacted me. You asked me to come to your office. After arriving there you were so wonderful and quickly diagnosed the fact that I had an eye infection. (I cannot remember the name of it but you were funny when you said it sounded like something to eat.)
You were wonderful in diagnosing and explaining the problem and providing me with the necessary medication that I needed.
Because of you my husband and I were able to continue on with our Northern California tour. Without you we could not have done so.
As I told you, I would have liked to have tucked you into my pocket and brought you back to New Hampshire so that you could be our physician.
You were wonderful and I just wanted to say thank you again for all your help. We so appreciated you and we wish you the very best in the future.
Sincerely,
Pamela A.
PS. Your assistant in the office was super to deal with and we also want to recognize her.
Thankful he was willing to see me so late at 8pm! He had a ton of tips about general health and areas I need to watch out for like blood pressure and posture. Kind enough to get me the meds I needed right away since it was late and pharmacies weren’t open!

Jim Savage, MD, is my family PCP since 2007.
The Front office, extremely pleasant and kind. Making an appointment is easy. They are very knowledgeable about insurances and outstanding balances.
Dr Savage has always diagnosed our conditions correctly. Whatever treatment/medication he has prescribed, have always helped us. Dr Savage is a wonderful man! I trust Dr Savage with our lives! I always recommend Dr Savage to all of my friends and family.
My family ages range from 12 to 52.
One of the better experiences I've had with a doctor, who took the time to explain what was wrong with me, why, and how to get better, instead of just writing a quick scrip and sending me out the door. I wish every doctor was as thorough and humane as Dr. Savage.

he got right to the point of diagnosising me, did a quick minor test, the gave me a shot, a little bag of follow up meds right there on the spot, and sent me on my way with a game plan to tackle my issue, and a good feeling of it being resloved.

In and out in no time. Called in around lunch to see if I could see him that day for a 2 week long bout of vertigo, and was able to see him a couple hours later, same day. Staff was super friendly and nice, and Savage was on point. Joked around with him a bit, real talk, no bullshit. I could have been talking to a friend the way he interacted.
Got right down to business after that, checked me out and prescribed what I needed. Even had some of the meds I needed on hand which he threw in as a consolation prize. I will def. be returning in the future if I need a quick fix. Highly recommend him if you don't want any hand-holding B.S. and just want to get healthy.
let me tell you some facts - there are quite a bit of really shady doctors in SF that only care about tacking on tests and visits to raise your bill. Looking back to my more naive days I feel like I've been conned from some offices. Dr. Savage is absolutely not one of these people. He's been highly successful forever, the man could give 2 shits about money, relatively speaking.
There are very few doctors available all week and getting a near instant appointment when you are feeling miserable is amazing.
Dr. Savage's office is ran very efficiently, if possible even gives you meds directly to save you that dreaded Walgreens run.

was in the same boat as many of the reviewers, I was sick at a conference, and I needed to see a doc, while was as in SF. Now, in Miami we have lot's of urgent care centers, SF does not, there are a few, but they all want cash up front, etc. I needed to find a clinic that would take my out-of-state insurance. So, I googled, yelped, etc. I found Dr. Savage who had a an office about 3 blocks from my hotel near Union Square.
I called, he answered the phone, told me to come in, and I did.
Basically, I had a severe sinus infection, and I needed to get it cleared up before I got back on the plane to go home.
When I meet with the doctor, he was professional, kind, and very clear. He was also willing to explain various aspects of the treatment, and the issues with regard to upper resp. infections. He staff called in my prescriptions to a Walgreens just next to my hotel, and I was good to after two days, and I was ready for the plane home. Last year my wife blew-out her ear drum when she had a similar infection on a trip, and her ears got clogged. So be careful.
I am not sure where the bad reviews came from, this doctor is was very fine, I am not giving him 5 stars, b/c most of my reviews I give out 5's.
So, if your in from out-of-town, and need help, go to him, he will see you and get you well!
Additionally, it turns out, he see many aircrews and is very familiar with treatment if you have to fly.
I do recommend him if you need help.

I first saw Dr. Savage when I arrived in San Francisco and didn’t have a general practitioner. He is knowledgeable and light-hearted at the same time, and he isn’t a doctor who throws prescriptions at a problem. He wants to know what’s going on and always has some great ideas on how to solve things naturally. He’s quite an expert on all things supplemental. A truly holistic viewpoint.
After repeat displays of his kung-fu kicks and hearing about his former life as a fattie, not to mention some great advice about my gym workout, I have never left.
Thank you Dr. Savage for your sense of humor and great, sound medical advice!
